Possible Improvements to Support City of Culture Bid

Derby has bid to be City of Culture 2025. Here are a few ideas that could help support the bid.

Artwork in huge frames in places like the Market Place, in buildings, villages, and areas of beauty
Supersize one or two bus stops
Five-minute car parking bays to collect friends and family
City centre knowledge points that assists shoppers with things like the location of shops or landmarks such as St Peters or Cathedrale Quarter
Improving traffic conditions
Naming some of the roundabouts or new roundabouts after flora and fauna native to Derbyshire
Improve lighting around the Newdigate Street / Sinfin Lane junction
Change the position of the stop line at the traffic lights on the roundabout at the end of Burton Road going towards Littleover
Traffic-calming measures near children’s nurseries
New house builds to include community groups or small businesses in their garages or extensions
Mackworth Housing – the proposed Infinity Garden Village south of Sinfin
