Bee-friendly bus shelters and other ideas

I read on the Derby City Council website about the bee-friendly bus shelters and how some of them will have solar panels. I think this will be a great idea and will bring the city centre to life by having wildflowers growing on shelters, with bees and butterflies buzzing around them.

I would like to add some ideas.

I think it would be great for all new housing developments planned in Derby to have solar farms next door to them. These can be obscured from view by pockets of woodland and wildflower areas. There could be local paths for families, retired couples and dog walkers to enjoy the woodland and wildflower areas. I think we need to look at reducing the costs of energy and producing clean green energy on our doorsteps.

I think it would also be great to have more community businesses in each new development. The more local community businesses within a short walk will really support the community and put less of a strain on using cars.
