Silk Mill Flower Show

Following on from Rob's article about the Urban Forest, how about a flower show at Silk Mill Park over the Summer. It could be staged over three weekends in a row. There could be flowers and different horticultural things on sale.

There could be a set of stalls for all the different friends of the different Derby City parks, like Friends of Normanton Park, Friends of Markeaton Park, Friends of Chaddesden Park, etc.

How about having stalls to sign up volunteers to the different bloom groups in Derby, like Littleover in Bloom. The council could also have stalls for residents to join the different allotments in Derby.

What do you think? Would you like to see something like this at Silk Mill Park? I think it would be a good way to get families interested in joining these groups. More numbers to support these groups would be warmly received.
